Lichfield Running Club was founded by Dave Lawton, Dave Nason, Mike Green and Dave Lewis in 1983. Lichfield Running Club members have been running and racing round Lichfield for more than 30 years. Nowadays the club has more than 125 members, with weekly training sessions catering for a wide range of ability. Members also compete in races; the yellow Lichfield Running Club vest is regularly seen in local and national events.
We have our own club Grand Prix championship with races ranging from 5km to half marathon, an Off-Road series, Time Trial series, and team events. We can currently cater for adult runners aged from 18 upwards. Younger runners should look at the Staffordshire Athletics Network.
Lichfield Running Club welcomes people of all abilities, although you need to be able to run 5k before you run with the main groups. We run regular beginners and novice course to help you reach this level.
From the annual award ceremony, to “curry nights”, to post-race pub visits, to after training socials, Lichfield Running Club is friendly. A great deal of discussion and information goes on our Facebook page.
