Burton and District Summer League

For the 2026 Summer season, Lichfield Running Club will once again be competing in the Burton and District Summer League; the League races have been incorporated into the Grand Prix series. The aims of entering the League are to provide more opportunities for runners to compete with other clubs and to provide some new events to incorporate into the club competitions.

The Burton and District Summer League was established in 2005 to encourage friendly rivalry between running clubs in the Burton area. Other clubs in the League include: South Derbyshire Road Runners, Uttoxeter Road Runners, Burton Athletics Club, Washlands Women Runners, Peel Road Runners, Ivanhoe Runners, Hatton Darts and Tamworth Athletics Club. The League races cover a variety of distances, from 5 miles to half marathon.

  • Conkers Run in the Forest
  • Uttoxeter Half Marathon
  • Washlands Relays
  • Gate Gallop 10k
  • Worthington 6 mile run
  • Burton 10k
  • Lichfield 10k
  • Tamworth 5 mile run

The League awards a range prizes for individuals and teams which will be presented at the Presentation Evening in October.

We are delighted to announce that Lichfield Running Club achieved considerable success in the league in 2025, with the men’s team once again taking home the team trophy, and a number of members receiving awards in their respective categories:
