The yellow vests were out in force for the second time in a week at the Tara Kinder Memorial 10k, hosted by Derby Runner. It was another BDSL event on a hot and sunny evening, so our runners were glad of the shaded course. The race took place at Elvaston Castle Country Park with runners completing three laps round the park.

Despite the searing heat, 8 of our men finished in under 40 minutes. First home was Matt Orford (35.16), closely followed by Richard Bravington (35.20). They were followed by Dan Floyd, John Doyle, Andy Evans, Wayne Asprey, Steve Rivers and Phil Radnor. Andy Clay finished in just over 40 minutes and he was followed by Will Packham, Ed Coppinger, Owen Davies, Matt Allan, Nick Parkes and Stephen Howard.

Our first woman home was Jess Webb (48:55) followed by Gail Fortes-Mayer (50.15). The team was completed by Joy Atkin, Gemma Lunn, Janna Heathershaw, Carina Allan, Clare Tanter, Ann Schwarzenbach, Beth Clarke, Sophie Thompson, Libby Hyde- Durrant, Marian Lowther and Charlotte Wesley.Well done to all our runners for turning out in such heat.
